Is that a yoyo he is playing with? We have a couple and I think I'm gonna try to do something like that!

Can you give me the exact number of times?
I would hate to run the risk of going over the "spinning your camera" limit.

Sorry you didn't win the Rookie Award at the TWS awards. But, that's alright. I'd much rather have Year's Best AM from The Skateboard Mag anyway. You'll probably get Street Skater at TWS soon enough. Get well soon.

hey, maybe im just a massive bungscraper but how do you take pictures this and like the green light pictures? i understand you spin the camera, but do you leave the shutter open the whole time? that would seem to me like it would over expose as well as making the entire picture too blurry to see.
also can anyone tell me how to properly execute double exposures? ive often tried winding the film back to take pictures on the same frame of film, but i usually wind too far back or not far enough. does anyone know how to remedy this?

Johnny is gonna be back on a warpath. I like how Ed asks questions from people in the comments. Best skate site for sure!

double exposures require a manual camera, of a fancy film camera that has it as a feature. For a manual camera, you have to take a picture, but before you wind the film, push the film release button on the bottom so the film can't advance. Then you can take another shot on the same frame. But keep in mind you are hitting it with double the light, so you should underexpose a little.
The twisty thing I do is using a slow shutter speed with a flash. The flash freezes the subject, and the slow shutter creates the motion in the background.
This shot of Johnny was done in the daytime, and i twisted too early, that is why he is blurred too. It works best at night with lots of lights in the background. That is why the green ones are so good...
