Directly after Nick's pro party, the dudes possed up and drove up to San Francisco for the Bust or Bail contest.
They showed up on Corey Duffel's porch and said, 'We're staying here.'
They were just in time for a tea party he was having. What luck.
Matt B called the hammock.
They went skating and ran into some serious Loyal Pawnage. The brainwashing is getting through!
Johnny skates some thing while Nick and Matt relax.
Then Matt decided to roll up to the thing and did something shocking to J-Lay.
It was time for some fro-gurt.
Then they hit the BUST or BAIL comp. See the results on Thrasher.com
Matt B signs an autograph, yeah, he gives them out for free, unlike Sheckler who charges 5 bucks per 'graf.
Sinclair bought Matt B one size triple-D breast implant to suck on. But seriously, its important to stay hydrated when you are out skating. And sunblock would be a good idea too. Matt B was bogarting the implant all day and Nick started giving him the stink-eye
After a full day of ripping they guys decided to retire to a skatepark for some more fun into the night.
Whatever was going on, Matt B is down.
(See Matt B's 6-page interview in the new Transworld!!!)
We held a surprise going pro party for Angel in Denver, CO and our rep out there had the pics to prove it.
Angel had no idea but all his friends from Colorado were there to surprise him.
...Meanwhile back at the homestead. Which is across the street from the bar where the party was hosted Angel smokes one last cigarette as a amateur skateboarder. Now he will be smoking as a professional.
Now he is brought to the location where he will be meeting the rest of his friends for the usual Thursday night gathering...
Where his pro model boards were hanging!
Surprise Angel you are now Pro!
Chicks love pros!
Do take notice of the shirt changes going on...
Goodnight Denver...its a wrap.
Angel Ramirez is now a Professional skateboarder! Stay tuned for some super overload blogging from his pro announcement last night in Denver.
If you are a San Diego local or you're in town for ASR make sure you come out to the Black Box Open House on Wednesday, September 3rd. The festivities start @ 12pm. We will have a Dekline booth set up and some team riders lurking around the premises.
Matt B and the guys try to find the place...
Nick sleeps like a baby with no idea what awaited him. He thought it was a run-of-the-mill shop appearance, but little did he know Mike Sinclair had arranged a mega-sweet 'blessed' going pro party!
A naked lady walked out and presented Nick with his pro board adorned with all sorts of cooking paraphenalia: A bag of rare Oregano, some imported cooking Sherry, and a few beers. PHOTO KEY (the difference between where Nick looks, and the dudes with cameras) (Nick loves Oregano)
But then Grif moved in for a snake...
He got that sweet bag of Oregano! He will be cooking a hearty pasta sauce this weekend.
NAKED HUG!
Oh yeah, NIck's mom was there?
It was also a Pinata Party!
Nick swings at the Pinata with his first pro board...
Then it breaks open and everybody scrambles to get the goodies! I have no idea what it was stocked with.
Kevin B. (AWV) with 'the Boosh"
'Did you see that naked lady from THIS angle?'
They even had a Disc Jockey...
Grif was doing some heavy lurkage on the now clothed lady.
fuck you I'm having a good time.
Special Shirts were made just for this occasion.
Good Times were had...
Buy one you Loyal Pawns!
Yeah! Buy one! ---------Bonus Photo: A Parting shot
The surprise was perfect, and completely x-rated. More photos coming soon! This is just a sneak peek!
Abdias Rivera! This was shot at last years Pheonix Am and he was doing these in his runs every try.
Heres the part that you really don't want to mess up. Picture the crowd in their underwear and imagine the fire hydrant being a small pebble. Pop your board.
Stay focused and keep the board under you. But remember to flick the shit out of it. And pretend you're doing a frontside flip but like only a baby frontside flip because you only need to rotate it 90 degrees since its a shifty.
Think light as a feather and rotate those hips.
Once you get this high try not to just fall straight down onto the fire hydrant on your baby maker.
Prepare to land and not fall. Also slowly start rotating it back to straight.
Don't land 90 or else its just gonna be like a stupid flip or something. I don't even know what to call that.
Land straight as a arrow and roll away screaming Yes Yes Yes. Then throw your hands up and start the YMCA celebration dance and hope the crowd follows...
Billy gets raw on the cover of Thrasher.
While Harmony takes quarter-cover honors over at Slap. Good work, boys.
I found this sequence of Gareth that hadn't been used for anything so I figured what better way than to post a instructional trick tip. These are my words not his. I'm just using him as my stunt dummy.
Step 1: Climb onto the highest possible structure you can. Hopefully it's high enough where you can't even see the bottom where you're supposed to land.
Step 2: Get in tail drop posistion or dump truck or nosepick or handstand or criss cross applesauce or whatever you feel comfortable jumping from onto a skateboard.
Step 3: This is actually part of step 2 but it's so important that I'm highlighting it and including it in it's own step. Point to your friend at the bottom and say "this is for chicks" or "get money" or "pirate life" or "gangster life" or whatever you feel comfortable getting into at that moment in time.
Step 4: Go for it.
Step 5: Don't think about falling. Think about landing. Think happy thoughts...
Step 6: Be very thankful that you didn't completely mess this up! Suck up the impact and party down onto safe grounds to celebrate.
Step 7: Make sure all your friends filmed it. Go straight home and edit it to a sweet song and send it in for sponsorship opportunities.
That's Right! Last week the band Weezer filmed their new Music Video and we were there! The video was based around "breaking records" so of course we brought the World's Biggest Skateboard. Check it out....I wonder how many people are riding it?
Rode in Bennett's spaceship out to Corona.
Met up with the homies.
Chris Piss fronted on the cops.
John E. John got a new tat.
Matt went the wrong way on a one way track.
Ladies and gentlemen, the luminous Josh Harmony.
Ahhh-ton!
Prepping for the big show.
All in a days work.
Angel is featured in the Skateboard Mags latest Mag Minute.
This just in...search for photos of Angel for the Thrasher contest also...
Jimmy, the RVCA TM drove us there. As soon as we left he shouted 'slut!', and pointed at this lady.
That is pretty normal here in the OC, but we were off to the IE. See Jimmy's RVCA Skate Blog for bonus coverage.
Josh and Ed signing away. Nobody got their body signed, I guess we are not 'rock-starry' enough.
Austin was ready for some body parts, Josh, not so much. One kid had some Small ass wheels, and Raymond was gonna give him a free pair, but took off and left the kid hanging.
Leo is just as handsome as Austin and Josh...
Spanky showed up too! That girl in the background was moving in for the kill. She wanted to go out with him, but all she ended up with was this guy. Either way Spanky gets rad.
These kids I have seen before. Their fro's are getting sweet.
Erica, Active's organizer extraordinaire, was there to oversee the festivities. I know you Toy Website Lurkers LOVE Active Erica so I tried to get some shots for you, but she is shy.
This kid made a home-made Toy Hat, hello lawsuit! Here is a close up.
Just for the fans...
I found Jimmy and Leo in the swimsuit section getting weird.
The age group that the Toy team has been attracting keeps getting younger. Our 'Hello Kitty' series is coming out next month.
Each board comes with a big red lollipop?
Billy is on a whirlwind video premiere tour with Fallen for the Ride the Sky video. They showed up in Barcelona where Diego lives, and took him to the screening.
We need more posts from Diego!!!!!!
Remember when Alex was more of a actor than a skater? Well I heard he's hit it big time and landed something epic in the new Slap magazine...
Oh David how handsome you have become. Have fun on your trip to the Northwest. Give Angel my best.
Sometimes when I'm at work I wish I was no other place than the bottom of the Woodward foam pit.
Yesterday, A-Stone and a bunch of homies piled into a car and drove there. Purposely getting real hot, so the water would feel super good.
Always wear sunblock, it is important because by the time these guys are old, skin cancer will be happening to 5 year olds...
Check out Corey at this Osiris signing. And...
...And Split just posted a video website featuring Nuge and Corey.
Josh Harmony back from a whirlwind Fallen Video premiere tour comes to shred the ramp.
Stu, Jimmy's right hand man, is so happy that spontaneous man-love erupts like an ejaculating volcano.
Grant and Grif are only slightly amused by this, but really amped on Olympic Gymnastics, especially Shawn Johnson. They hate 'The Nasty'.
I'm not sure Austin has been watching the Olympics.
Before the session, they got sidetracked by new magazines.
Check out Mike Burnett's Burnout, its great!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUSTIN! Today is his B-Day! Check out EXPN's first ever Wake up Call with Adam Dyet
Diego is on his feet finally and already training...
Ivan Drago is watching his back. The future will be butchered. Stereo re-caps their recent trip to Minnesota. Check out Olly and the rest of the sound agents in Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 of their trip.
Thrasher is having a contest on their site featuring Nuge. They will be giving away a Foundation complete every week. Good luck and don't blow it.
With the HB Park gone, the new spot appears to be the Volcom Park. Austin has been going quite a bit.
Rob slid down the chimney to get there.
Grif got caught modeling...
So did Grant.
In other news: Tosh helps the HB skatepark...
Foundation and 303 Boardshop are hosting a BBQ. Don't miss it!
That's Right!! Check out Fuel TV's The Daily Habit this Wednesday, August 20th to see what Dyet is up to!
Nicky T. got up on them walls this weekend.
Monte got emotional.
Austin cut his hand, of course.
Grif and Grant were on some Cobain shit.
See.
God knows what Rob was doing.
Osiris just posted a little article about the Skate & Create contest Transworld hosted. Check out the footage and photos from it.
Going for it.
Ed likes Shel Siverstein.
Austin prepares for his way gnarlier bridge jump (see Logan Kincade video#??)...
The video of our encounter can be seen here...
Dyet will be competing in Bust or Bail on August 30th from 12pm-1pm. This year it will be at Bernal Heights—the hellacious 16-stair—for a no-holds-barred, rail-ripping and stair-blasting extravaganza.
Big Trick Contest will be judged by Jake Phelps and John Cardiel and will be paid in BIG....Good luck Dyet!!
$10,000 for 1st
$7,000 for 2nd
$5,000 for 3rd
Check here for more info.
Shot by Logan Kincade.
Evolution Skateshop in Ohio just had a interesting visitor walk into the shop. Is this the start of a new Foundation giveaway. Dress up like Duffman for prizes?? Because I'm sending this kid a board...
If you think have you done something worthy of a prize then email me. I'm taking Foundation related costumes at the moment... Promo@TumYeto.net
Johnny swings...
As Josh dives...
While Billy wonders if there's a outlet to charge his Game Boy. Swimming holes are fun.
We just posted a new video from our recent trip to Woodward West.
Angel doesn't have footage over at the FKD bearings site but Sierra does. Take a gander. Patrick Melcher has been in skating in Europe for the last few weeks. His broken pinky has not slowed him down one bit. Check out his blog!
Last weekend Dyet was skating at the Quicksilver 80's themed street style cotest. Check out the photos here!
Josh skates the LB park while a group of kids slip in their BGP's...
Grant back-tails and the BGP's are getting more noticeable...
Whoa! The BGP's took over.
So Grif just decided to start taking portraits.
He found some willing models. Bonus photo of Grant poking a Dead Pelican with an oar.
Sierra has some footage posted over at the Berrics.
While trying to skate a spot some sketchy luchador harassed us.
The crew was put at ease by Grant's air piano.
Meanwhile, Ed went terminator on some neighborhood kids. Hey, if you weren't sure, here is some reassurance that Rollerblading is Dumb.
Came up on a JLay mission. He was already shredding when we arrived.
A little mangy dog went nuts on us as we entered the school.
Look what it did to Grifs paws!
Austin talked to Braveheart about some protection.
He teleported him to the relative safety of Mt. Grif Dog...
And made Grif pee in a corner for territory's sake.
The evening ended casually.
Pick up a new issue of the San Diego magazine Riviera to check out one of our newest Rider's Choice kicks. Our new styles will make their debut at ASR September 4th-6th.
David sent me this photo of Angel the other day. He said something along the lines of your really gonna like this photo or this photo is good for the site. Something like that. Sweet. Yeah David I love this photo it looks like it was taken with a disposable camera from 1975 then developed at the local gas station, then rubbed in dirt, then ran over by a car, then left out in the ran, then scanned in and sent to me. Thanks David.
Searched through some urban wastelands with A-Stone.
Scaled Mount Grif Dog.
Seu 180'ed around some shit bags.
Grif gave us his smoldering...
...and exasperated.
Getting into some new trends.
Like Japanese drumming.
(Thanks Kevin for posting! Now it's Ed T. droppin' in for a quick announcement...)
Hey everyone, it's Kevin's Birthday! ----------HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEVS!!!!!!!
On Colt Bowden's website (former toy flow rider...) Scope the RVCA Blog!
One of the stars of the evening, Josh Harmony and me shot by the illustrious Grant Brittain.
Another ex-Toy rider sighting, Elissa Steamer lookin' tight.
Ran into Ben Gilley who has received an interesting tattoo.
I was hugged by a drunken Tommy Guns in a throng of sweaty skaters being pushed out by security...
The master of the evening, Billy Marks, coming through with an EPIC part.
My favorite parts to watch were Matt B and Josh H's, Slash's, and Chris Coles. But the stunner of the night was how good James Hardy is, and how amazing Billy Marks is. See MUCH MUCH better coverage of the evening over at Burnout by Mike Burnett...
Who do you think will have the best part? Comment below!
Bill Marshall a East Coast Foundation rep flow rider who has been getting it done lately. Check out his Who's Hot in Skateboarder.
Also, starting on August 15th (running until September 13th), the Vine Arts Center in Minnesota will be hosting a Stereo art exhibit called "A Night With The Agency" featuring the work of Jason Lee, Chris Pastras and Clint Peterson.
Check out the flier for more details!
Real Skateboards rider Johnny Romano has been moved back into the ICU and could really use some words of encouragement from you guys. Go to this link and leave him a message. Room 910.
Everyone at TumYeto is thinking about you Johnny. We got your back! Get better soon!
Young child getting his face stomped on while simultaneously getting stabbed with a bayonet.
Baby getting thrown into a fire: priceless.
A sequence of Rambo shooting a massive machine gun at a dude 2 feet away from him.
He explodes like a bag filled with strawberry jam. (note the decapitated body laying in the truck)
Leg amputation using a machete, straight through two shin bones, with spurting blood.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks Diego! Get well soon, I'm getting scared! ZJ's in Santa Monica is one of the few places in the World to find a pair of the 50 produced Dalek Ringside Boots. You can find ZJ's here!
The somewhat still new formed team Circa Combat featuring Foundation riders Abdias Rivera and Don "Nuge" Nguyen will be shredding in the East Coast. Look for a location near you!
Just watch the last clip of that video. Wow.
Kincade was there to document it.
Nick's livin' the good life. I only read Playboy to find out about the 10 best skateparks in America, seriously!
Watch L. Kincade 14 for some entertainment! Adam Dyet shredded the course while Chris Pastras ripped the mic at X-Games 14. Congratulations to Adam Dyet for his 7th place finish. Check the photos .
Rob went all Sun God on a blunt. Blonds really do have more fun.
He revitalized himself through meditation.
Grant and Austin thought he was being weird.
Never one to be left out, Grant got rad on the bank, too.
The spot was lousy with rubbish.
Poor Brian was made to ride in the trunk. I think Kincade needed some space from his creative juices.
As you can see, the juices are flowing.
Yeesh..
Some psycho child went and re-created Nick's part from Suffer the Joy in a video game... Creepy, but cool.
Butch has been resting up and keeping it real, watching the new Rambo movie on repeat. With that sort of motivation he'll be up and slashing in no time.
He was amped when P-Stone and Noro came by for a visit after his surgery.
In the meantime he'll be checking out his old Video Parts and Kincade 13.
Since nobody made the five person cut to the finals, today's post will highlight some of the finer shots by Mike Sinclair, TM extraordinaire.
JLay with a cruntslide into 15th. And a lipslide for bonus.
Nick gets smithy while a long lens crane gets the shot. Some bonus Nick: a Front Blunt,
a Noseblunt, a 5-0 and a Back-Lip.
Johnny and Billy made a pact to make the top 5 next year. Watch out, Nyjah. Heres Billy doing a KF Board...
Nick sat back for some sage advice from X Games champ and former teammate Elissa Steamer. Maybe next year he'll take down Sheckler.
Corey and Sierra have been at the X-games the past couple of days. Also Toy Machine's Johnny Layton.
Duffel 50-50's a graffiti covered rail.
Sierra kickflip backlip.
Duffel nosegrinds.
Both the guys suffered injuries and had to be checked out by the trainers.
Got picked up for the X Games.
Had to check in my skate.
Magic pointed the way to the ripping. He loves Billy.
Billy was battling it out on the course. Hot as balls.
If you look close you can see Nick frontside 360ing during his heat.
This lady totally missed Appleyard's trick just so she could stare at her baby.
After the street we all went in to scope the Big Air.
D Way went down.
It was actually a little boring, but a fine crew of people make it all worthwhile.
See the Events page for updates on Ed's Book signing!
